We are currently running the FlexNet Inventory Agent 2018 R3 (v.13.1.1) in our environment.
Our server folks are looking to start provisioning Windows Server 2019.
Will our current agent run and work as planned on Windows Server 2019?
NOTE: I see FNMS 2019 R1 documentation shows the its version of the agent will run on Windows Server 2019. I was just curious if the 2018 R3 version will work and it was just a matter of the documentation not being updated.
Thanks!

Hello Jason,
FNMS 2018 R3 was released before Windows Server 2019... So, Windows Server 2019 does not appear in the compatibility matrix of FNMS 2018 R3.
However, I would assume ascending compatibility of Windows Server APIs will make the FNMS 2018 R3 scanner work. FNMS 2019 R1 agent officially works on Windows Server 2019.
Did you test it?
Best regards,
Nicolas

This also may apply to 3rd party data sources: the release notes only state what has been tested and therefore Flexera can officially support. Older and newer versions might still work.
As mentioned by @nrousseau1 it would be really helpful if you could share your experience with the 2018 R3 agent on Windows Server 2019, like an inofficial compatibility list.

We haven't provisioned any 2019 servers yet. I just got confirmation that they are looking to do so late July/Aug time frame. Our goal is to upgrade FNMS 2018 R3 to FNMS 2019 R2 (or whatever is next after R1). BUT, if our current agent doesn't work we will be forced to upgrade sooner and than likely skip 2019 R2.
If anyone else runs the 2018 R3 agent on a Windows 2019 server with success, it would be great to hear about it!
Thanks,
Jason

We have about 20 servers with Windows Server 2019 on them, and half of them have the 2018 R2 agent on them and are functioning fine. I'm assuming that the 2018 R3 agent will work, too. The other half have the 2019 R1 agent on them.
