Overview

Jamf have announced plans to discontinue the support for Basic authentication for the Classic API in an upcoming release of Jamf Pro. At present this is estimated to occur between August and December 2022.

Please find more details here.

Solution Approach

In line with these changes and as part of our continued commitment to support key vendors such as Jamf, we are planning to release hotfix for App Portal 2022 R1 & App Portal 2021 R2 which will allow authentication via the Bearer Token.

The hotfixes will be shared as part of Flexera App Broker Knowledge Base article for App Portal 2022 R1 and App Portal 2021 R2, respectively. Full installation details will be included as part of the KB article download.

Our App Portal 2023 release will include support for Jamf Pro authentication via Bearer Token. Further details regarding the release date will be posted on the Flexera Community nearer the time.

Recommendations

If you are using App Portal 2021 R1 or earlier, we recommend that you upgrade to App Portal 2021 R2 version or later and apply this hotfix. This will ensure that you can benefit from the Jamf Pro integration – using Bearer Token authentication – within App Portal. If you are planning to use Jamf Pro version 10.34.0 or earlier, still you can proceed using your current version of App Portal integrating Jamf Pro via Basic Authentication.
