We are delighted to announce the general availability of App Portal / App Broker 2022 R1 release.
App Portal / App Broker 2022 R1 includes the following features and improvements
Intune Windows (Win32) App support for Windows 10 devices
We have added the support for Windows (Win32) App for deploying software to Windows 10 devices using Microsoft Intune - a unified endpoint management tool along with support for Microsoft Store for Business Apps and Windows Line of Business Apps (.msi and .msix) app type respectively.
ServiceNow integration capabilities that exist in the product are supported for Microsoft Windows (Win32) app also.
Support SmartUninstall with Flexera One ITAM
As part of this release, we added support for the SmartUninstall capability when App Portal is integrated with Flexera One IT Asset Management (ITAM). This capability was available earlier only when App Portal was integrated with FlexNet Manager Suite On-Premises.
SmartUninstall allows license reclamation even if an uninstallation program is not defined in the catalog item for the application. Uninstallation of the application is handled by the Smart Uninstaller and there is no dependency on the deployment technology. Support is limited to msi packages only.
REST API for Question / Answer capability
Questions REST API will help customers who are using their home-grown IT storefront or ITSM systems leverage the Question and Answer capability.
The following REST API methods have been added in this release.
Getting list of Questions associated with catalog item(s).
Submitting Answers to Questions for an Order and its Requests.
Getting details about submitted Questions and Answers associated with a Request or an Order.
Update to use Flexera IAM to access Flexera One ITAM API
There is a plan later this year to retire Flexera Authentication Gateway Service (AGW), which is currently used to authenticate API calls from App Portal / App Broker to Flexera One IT Asset Management (ITAM). Starting with this release, App Portal / App Broker supports integration with Flexera One IT Asset Management using the Flexera One Identity and Access Management (IAM).
It is recommended that customers using Flexera one ITAM switch to integration by authentication via IAM Refresh Token before AGW is retired. Patches for customers on older versions of App Portal / App Broker will be shared later.
This release also includes the support for newer San Diego version of ServiceNow.
We would like to let you know that the following customer idea submitted in Flexera Ideas portal is addressed in this release.
AB-I-53: FNMS Cloud Smart Uninstaller support

We are happy to announce the general availability of App Portal / App Broker 2021 R2 release.
App Portal / App Broker 2021 R2 includes the following features and improvements
Integration with Microsoft Intune for Windows 10 devices
This release introduces the support for deploying software to Windows 10 devices using Microsoft Intune - a unified endpoint management tool. App Portal / App Broker helps the customers who are invested into Configuration Manager by supporting co-management capability, that enables the ability to concurrently manage Windows 10 devices by using both Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune.
The following app types are supported as part of Intune integration for Windows 10 devices:
Microsoft Store for Business Apps
Windows Line of Business Apps (.msi and .msix)
ServiceNow integration capabilities that exist in the product are supported for Microsoft Intune also.
Microsoft Intune has a limitation of not being able to provide the domain value of the device. Due to this, if Intune is chosen as the source of device data sync, App Portal does not currently have support for license governance capabilities like license reservation and license reclamation out of the box. However, we have come up with workaround to mitigate the device domain problem, using this workaround license governance can be achieved in limited way if inventory data is available from FlexNet Manager Suite. If the customer has comanaged devices, the recommendation would be to use Configuration Manager as source of data sync to get benefit of license governance.
Integration with Jamf Pro and VMware Workspace ONE UEM
As part of this release, we have aligned the rebranding of Casper Suite and AirWatch in the product & documentation and renamed them as Jamf Pro and Workspace ONE UEM respectively.
App Portal / App Broker continues to integrate with latest Jamf Pro 10.31.1 version to deploy the applications on the mac devices and integrates with latest VMware Workspace ONE UEM to manage the installations on Android and iOS mobile devices respectively.
Support for ServiceNow Quebec and Rome versions
This release also includes the support for newer Quebec and Rome versions of ServiceNow respectively.
We would like to let you know that the following customer ideas submitted in Flexera Ideas portal are addressed in this release.
AB-I-9: Search and Filter Workflows to Save time
AB-I-64: Support for Jamf 10.31.1

This post is follow-up on App Broker / App Portal 2021 R1 which is released on May 6 th , to keep the support intact for running bulk script to create new catalog item using API, we have refreshed the AppPortalSetup_2021_R1.exe in the Product and License Center.
In this overwritten AppPortalSetup_2021_R1.exe setup following changes are available: Earlier, two existing API endpoints were modified i.e., CreateNewCatalogItem and AddConfigMgrApp for the new features introduced as part of release. Due to this, running the bulk import PowerShell script against this API to create catalog items, would break this script. To address this issue, the CreateNewCatalogItem and AddConfigMgrApp API endpoints have been reverted to their original state and new API endpoints i.e., CreateNewCatalogItemWithClassification and AddConfigMgrAppUsingExistingCollectionId have been introduced to support the new features.

We are excited to announce the general availability of App Broker / App Portal 2021 R1 release.
App Broker / App Portal 2021 R1 includes the following features and improvements:
Ability to use an existing collection to create Catalogs
IT administrators would prefer to use the existing collections from ConfigMgr to create the Catalogs to avoid maintaining multiple collections. Using this capability, you will be able to select the existing collections from ConfigMgr to create Catalogs in App Broker / App Portal. This feature will also help improve time to deploy the application to the target devices thus achieving better performance.
When this capability is enabled, App Broker / App Portal will use the "Approve application requests for user per device" capability in ConfigMgr in the background. This feature will deploy the application immediately for a given user and device. If the user has multiple devices associated with them, they can request the application for each device separately.
Ability to classify Catalog items
App Portal now provides Catalog Classification to provide flexibility for the Administrator to optionally categorize a catalog item as either a preferred or non-preferred product. On the browse catalog page, users can then differentiate between preferred and non-preferred catalog items. When they attempt to checkout a non-preferred catalog item, it will be recommended that they choose from a list of preferred catalog items attached to the catalog by the administrator.
Support for ServiceNow Paris version
This release of App Broker / App Portal includes the support for the newer Paris version of ServiceNow.
