.msi in .exe format...

I have several software packages that I need to customize that use the Windows Installer but are in a .exe format. Is there anyway to customize the installation with a transform? SAP 6.2C2 & Visio 2000 are two in particular.

Thanks,

Bryan

you can always use properties to customise an MSI

why not use the msi?
Run your EXE and look in the TEMP folder, you'll probably find the MSI there

Some executables for MSI installers support the /a switch, which performs an administrative "installation" that decompresses the data from the executable...
Robert,

I attempted the switch you mentioned. /a generates an error from windows installer stating "invalid command". I think I have found the base Visio installer .msi. Is there a way to chain multiple .msi's in a package/setup.ini or in a transform for the base .msi? I've tried this before with this same product without success. I have the same issue with SAP 6.2C2.

Thanks for your time,

Bryan
