Repackaging of MS hotfixes

Hi,

we are using since a few weeks Admin Studio 5.0 VP1.
No I've tried to repackage some Microsoft Hotfixes that we can distribute this fixes with group policys under Windows 2000 because we don't have a software delivery system yet and this were the easiest way I think....

But I've noticed that it's not trivial to repackage such hotfixes. Sometimes the installed file is overwritten with a file from the dll-cache, one file is not included in the project or else.

Are there any guidelines how to get this working or is it possible, to create a "dummy msi" with an custom action script to install the Microsoft hotfix silently?

Perhaps include the necassary hotfixes in a msi package, run a custom action after file costing with command line argument? How should the command line for the custom action look like?

Thanks.

I think Microsoft advises to use a wrapper MSI (an empty MSI that will just launch the security update). There is some info about that on MSDN.

I also tried the same, but was not successful.
