To answer your question on how AdminStudio does things, it supports the standard methods of creating ODBC DSN's via Windows Installer (i.e. the ODBC related tables, and raw registry entries).
It seems the password isn't stored in the registry, so I'm of the belief that Repackager won't capture the password for SQL Authentication. That isn't to say that you can't figure out how to do it, but it'd take some investigation and some manual steps.
