Application Manager, is anybody using this?

In my company we have been packaging apps for some time but have never used the Application Manager. Is it worth the effort to set it up? Is anybody else using it? Best Practices? Any comments would be appreciated!

We are using application manager / Conflict solver for 6 years, it is a valueable tool of you have multiple (in our case 1500) apps in production.
