Application Isolation

Hi All,
Am just embarking on a project to rollout MSI validated applications and am looking into application isolation.
My question is, does it require much extra effort to isolate an application when packaging it ? 1 or 2 hours maybe (at most?)
Also, when using .local files for the appropriate operating systems does anyone have any experience of what sort of ratio of apps wont work using them ?
