Hi, our software has a few services and each has own client (GUI) to start/stop/monitor. When installed on Windows 2012 clients can not start/stop services unless they run "As Administrator". I am in administrators group but it doesn't help. Question: is there setting in InstallShield that controls permissions to start/stop services? I have tried to play with file permissions - no avail. Hi, there was a computer crash during installation of our software. Installation was made using InstallShield MSI. Now when I try to uninstall it I get error message: "InstallShield Wizard 1628 Failed to complete installation". When I am trying to run installation and select Repair option I am getting another error -1605. No single option work to either Modify, Repair or Uninstall. Then I have removed our software manually. Deleted services, files and all registry entries related to our software. Still InstallShield is not letting to Install/Uninstall/Repair/Modify. It is getting really annoying. I think it is a BUG in InstallShield 2010. If it has an option to repair it should REPAIR or clean up. Does anyone know what InstallShield registry entry to delete to fix the problem? Thanks you ... Hi, I have InstallShield 2010 Install Script MSI project that installs a few Windows services. Installation works OK. But when I uninstall the program all services and associated files left behind. Each component Permanent property set to No. In Components/Services/ServiceName I have settings in Control Settings/Operation Time Uninstall Stop - Yes and Uninstall Delete - Yes. My InstallScript MSI project installs 8 services and a lot of applications. When I run uninstall applications and DLLs removed but all 8 services left undeleted and service files not removed. Apparently I can use ServiceRemoveService(strServcName) function at uninstallation but I thought InstallShield should delete and remove services automatically. Any suggestions? Thank you. ... InstallScript MSI Project compiles without errors and warnings. When I try to run it crashes with error 2731 - Selection manager not initialized. Apparently something is not correct in my project but InstallShield does not catch an exception. I did not find any reference to this error in InstallShield Help.
