Does Silent install not add an entry to ARP?
I was playing around with our product and did a silent install. I found there is no entry in the Add/Remove Programs for the product but it is successfully installed. From the command line I can uninstall the product. Is this expected behavior. I can not find a definitive answer in the documentation.

A silent installation should create an ARP entry; assuming you're asking about an MSI project, does it make a difference if you force a per-machine installation?
msiexec /i ProductName.msi /qn ALLUSERS=1
msiexec /i ProductName.msi /qn ALLUSERS=1

also, did you happen to include ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT=1 in the command line you used for the silent install? That will prevent the product from showing up in the ARP view.

Ok found it! We have a custom action that sets ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT to 1 when the value of UILevel is 2. I thought I knew everything about our installer I guess I was wrong.
Much to learn I still have.
