Question:

Is it possible to search for a particular binary being installed on a Linux servers throughout a given scope, that means thousands of servers. The case is, that I need to find out a list of servers, that have a particular binary installed. I can do it manually by using Consume Intelligence/Assets/Process Details, but this is a manual work. I need to perform this search throughout thousand of linux machines.
Can you help me to find out the most efficient way of doing this task?

Answer:

You can search for processes/applications and display a listing of all servers running the process/application and/or display a listing of all instances of that process or application that is running by navigating to the 'Add Intelligence' drop down menu and select 'Search Applications and Processes'. The default view will display all servers that are running the application/process however you can change the drop down selection to choose 'Applications' to view a listing of all instances of the application/process.
