MAC address duplication inhibiting inventory
MAC address duplication inhibiting inventory
Question:
Our platform currently uses MAC addresses as a unique identifier for systems discovered in the environment.
Answer:
The system having the IP address 10.151.32.66 has, through MAC address inspection, already been discovered and inventoried and is currently present in the assessment Assets. You can verify this by searching the Assets page for the hostname of the system. In the case that a system has multiple IP addresses configured, our discovery process will use the first address on which the system was discovered as the primary IP address.
This may not be the IP address you consider to be the primary address for the system, since our collection logic has no way of making this determination.
