Please describe when a device is classified as a Database Instance?
Answer:
The "Database Instance" devicetype is reserved for database instances whose host devices are not in inventory (as determined by the host device having the same IP as the inventoried database). Devices with functioning OS or VMware reporting will show up as their standard devicetype. You should not see duplicates in the assets table if you do have the host device in inventory provided we are able to match the database to the host server.
