VMware Servers with different serial Numbers or blank serial number

Hi ,

We are getting some servers which have duplicate inventory records with either a different serial number or blank serial number.

We explored some server and they seem to be reimaged servers .

How is a serial number taken from Vmware by Flexera ?

Is there a fix for this ?

Are you taking about VMware ESXi or Server hosted on VM?

Flexera collect serial number data from device BIOS if serial number get change on BIOS then it will create duplicate as serial number is one of the thing Flexera use for merging inventory.
