Known Issue: Inventory without Assets view lists virtual machines where the host is linked to an asset, and the 'Link virtual machine to the same asset as VM host' option is enabled (IOJ-1715235)

Synopsis

The Inventory without Assets view is intended to list inventory device records that are not associated with an asset record. However this view includes inventory device records for virtual machines which are associated with an asset by virtual of the fact that:

  1. The virtual machine's host is linked to an asset; and
  2. The 'Link virtual machine to the same asset as VM host' system configuration option is enabled

Workaround

Configure the Inventory without Assets grid to include the Linked asset column, and apply a filter to only show rows where Linked asset is empty.

Fix status

This issue has been fixed in the following FlexNet Manager Suite releases: 2021 R1.4 / Mar 2022 (Cloud), 2022 R1 (On Premises)
