Summary

The License Compliance > Applications > Application Installation Details report may take a very long time to load and/or fail to load with red error bar displayed, particularly when the report is used in a way that results in large volumes of data being processed.

Symptoms

Various types of errors related to database timeout conditions may appear in the C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\Logging\WebUI\webui.log file on FlexNet Manager Suite On Premises Edition web servers. Some examples of possible errors appearing in the logging that may be symptomatic of this specific issue are:

 And:

Flexera.Web.Logic.Exceptions.ReportTimeoutException: The Timeout period for generating the report of 3600s was exceeded ---> System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Threading.Tasks.TaskCanceledException: A task was canceled.

Workaround

Consider applying filters to limit which publisher(s) and application(s) are covered by the report so that less data is returned.

This issue has been fixed in the following FlexNet Manager Suite releases: 2023 R2.1 / Jan 2024 (Cloud), 2024 R1 (On Premises)
