Error on step "ProcessCSPMetadataJsonBlob" after save with inventory adapter studio

Error on step "ProcessCSPMetadataJsonBlob" after save with inventory adapter studio

Description

There is an existing bug that when open the file "C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\ImportProcedures\Inventory\Reader\ManageSoft/Computer.xml" with inventory adapter studio, with or without modifying any content in this file, click on save. Then run compliance import with ManageSoft as a source, this error will occur.

Replication Scenario

 1. Open the ManageSoft adapter in the inventory adapter studio
 2. Expand "Computer" object and select step ProcessCSPMetadataJsonBlob
 3. Click on "Save" from the tool bar
 4. Run a full Compliance import

The error in the description will appear.
This is because the inventory adapter studio will save the following content in the original reader\managesoft\computer.xml

Assembly="ManageSoft.Compliance.Importer.Procedures.ManageSoft"
Class="ManageSoft.Compliance.Importer.Procedures.ManageSoft.CloudServiceInstanceData"
Method="Process">
<Parameter xmlns:q1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" d1p1:type="q1:string" xmlns:d1p1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">CSPJsonParser.xml</Parameter>

to the following after saving with inventory adaptor studio

Assembly="ManageSoft.Compliance.Importer.Procedures.ManageSoft"
 Class="ManageSoft.Compliance.Importer.Procedures.ManageSoft.CloudServiceInstanceData"
 Method="Process"
 DeclareVariables="true"><![CDATA[CSPJsonParser.xml]]></Reader>

Workaround

Don't use the inventory adapter studio, modify the computer.xml directly.

Hi,

Which IAS versions are affected by this problem?

Best regards,

Markward

@mfranz - the problem is known to affect the FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 release. It is likely to affect all other current versions of the Inventory Adapter Studio too, but as far as I know that hasn't been explicitly verified.
