Hi Team,

i have a query,  [AAA-03910] is a SKU for Visio Standard 2019  (Lic with No maintenance) and flexera recongnizes the same, but when i check the SKU online on the vendor portal for product information its turn's up as  Visio Standard 2021, but still FNMS SKU library recognizes it as Visio 2019 standard, can someone help me understand why is the SKU' version still showing up as 2019.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, some software publishers tend to 'recycle' SKUs when a new version of a software product is being released. Microsoft is a typical example.

The SKU [AAA-03910] has been used for Visio 2016 before being used for Visio 2019, and now for Visio 2021 (all for the Standard edition, w/o maintenance). The older versions of Visio can be purchased still.

Basically, Flexera needs to catch up from time to time, and will re-link SKUs to newly released software versions.

Please submit a ticket for cases like this one where a new version of a product has been released a while ago and the Flexera SKU library has not been updated yet.

Bottom line is that software publishers should not recycle SKUs used for software product releases that are sold without maintenance. That is a bad practice. In FNMS, when processing a purchase order using such a SKU, depending on the date of the latest update of the SKU library, there is a risk that the license created will be linked to an incorrect version of the product.
