Does Ignored inventory device's inventory date still being updated?

Hello Forum group:

I tried to find the product document to understand the 'expected' behaviour of the following scenario without a success

Hence asking here, When an inventory device was marked 'ignored' (eg: the users 'retired the linked asset or manually ignore the inventory etc), if the next reconcile receive a 'newer' inventory date from the inventory source of such device, what would happen:

1. Will the Inventory Device "status" still being kept as 'ignored' ?

2. If 'Yes' from Q1, then will the Inventory Date value at least been updated with the newer date ?

3. For 'Archived' inventory , (not those manually ignored), assuming the Inventory status should be updated back to 'Active' regarding less if linked asset still marked as 'Retired' ?

Thank you team, happy to hear some clarifications if you know the answers.

Best Regards

Kevin

Hello,

From what I observer in our implementations, if a device is marked as ignored, some time we still receive updated inventory for them, that's why we have reports like ignored inventory with actual date, where we investigate this, there can be errors in CDMB, the status was not correctly changed, or decommissioned where some one forget to shut down the device, there can be various reasons.

An inventory device marked as "Ignored" will still be updated with more recent inventory data when it becomes available. You'll see a new inventory date and you'll see the changes in the inventory device's history.  The inventory status will remain as "Ignored" until you change it to something else.  The Reconciliation process will not change this for you.

Thank you all for the consistent inputs.  Much appreciated. In my case I have some small number of 'updated' ignore device their Inventory Date remains unchanged. I believe it's a corner case related to my custom adapter.  Will seek Flexera support from further clarifications. Thanks Forum friends !

Cheers

Interesting, I would like to give 'adrian_ritz1' s input as 'Accept as Solution' which used to be an option, so future customer if have similar question can easily find the solution.  But I am unable to find that 'Accept as Solution' option anymore ...  Sorry....
