Discovery and Inventory Rules for vCenters

Is there a deeper dive on the option "Gather hardware and software inventory from all target decices". 

We currently have the option off. Are there major benefits to turn the option on?

@amendieta - That option is not needed for vCenter.  The "Gather hardware and software inventory" option performs a full hardware/software scan of all targeted servers using the Flexera Agent.
