Hello Forum,
A corner case question, we are seeing 'archived inventory' page is accumulating devices , we can confirm those devices are indeed no longer valid/real inventory in source etc. In that Archived page there is no further 'Cleanup/Delete' button to clean up this list.
Q1: is there a way to manually or automatically delete those 'archived inventory' (particularly when inventory dates older than 2 years etc)...?
Q2: Two ITAM system setting "Keep history data for xxx days" or "Obsolete inventory" , will either of them can do 'clean up' archived inventory? I am guessing the answer is 'No' but happy to hear if other suggestion is available etc.
Thanks in advance
Best Regards
Kevin

The archived inventory is automatically managed as per documentation: Archived Inventory
If you're finding discrepancies from this then please contact Flexera Support

Thank you very much for your finding, it's very helpful. Apparently with your current version of ITAM/Doco compared with my on premise version 2021 R1 , Flexera has at least updated the wording on documentation part of this area https://docs.flexera.com/FlexNetManagerSuite2021R1/EN/WebHelp/index.html#topics/Dev-Archived_Inventory.html
I still believe the 'archived' inventory should be at some level 'deleted' as 2021 document said. In that case I am about to raise a support question of my real issue is I have a lot 5 yr+ inventory still list in this 'archived' inventory 🙂
Thanks again John

Hello @Big_Kev ,
Are the Archived inventories still associated (allocated) with any IBM PVU/VPC software licenses in FNMS?

Hello @JJacildo
How are you ? Thanks for suggesting the checking point, I have randomly pickup some archived Inventory (also via SQL I make sure the 'archived' date happened already pass the 'retain' windows)..they are both not linking with any license.
I have also raised a support case #02808679 for some further help assistence.
Thanks anyway JJacildo :), hope everything runs well on your end.
Cheers
Kev
