Why Would Deleted Mac Inventory Devices Appear Under "Archived Inventory"?

Hi all ...

I run FNMS 2023R1 on prem.

I have obsolete inventory deleted automatically after 60 days.

What I'm seeing is that my Macs aren't really getting deleted - they're getting archived.  I see that my list of archived devices is all Macs that were marked for deletion. The software list on each of these entries is empty. What I see in the device's history is that on the 60th day, all the software is unlinked and the device status gets changed to Archived.

The archived list defines itself as "The inventory information for these devices is included in license position calculation for IBM PVU licenses where the device has contributed to consumption during current retention period.".

I'm pretty sure the Macs had no IBM PVU software on them.

Why would the Macs be archived instead of deleted?

The only reason I can think of that an inventory device record would get an "Archived" status is if it did indeed consume an IBM sub-capacity-based license for some reason, however unlikely you think that may be.
