Summary
We are delighted to announce Flexera One ITAM/ITV and FNMS/ITAM OnPrem inventory and software licensing capabilities have been extended to support Linux distributions running on IBM Power PC (POWER8 (and later) processors) LPAR partitioning technology.
Inventory and Licensing Support
Flexera Inventory agent for Linux on PowerPC architecture supports all the existing software inventory sources Flexera inventory agent support and hardware inventory data including virtualization identification, including capacity information required for sub-capacity licensing for publishers like IBM, Oracle.
Flexera One ITAM and FNMS 2022 R1 also provide software licensing including sub-capacity licensing for software installed on supported Linux distribution running in PowerPC LPAR partitions technologies.
Supported Version and Availability
Flexera Inventory agent version 17.4.1 and later supports Linux on PowerPC and is available in Flexera One ITAM for download and deployment through the inventory settings page.
Note: For On-Prem FNMS/ITAM customers, it will be available as part of the 2022 R1 release.
What Do I Need to Do?
Installed Flexera Inventory agent version 17.4.1 or later for PowerPC (ppc64le) on supported Linux distribution running on PowerPC LPAR partitions. Flexera inventory agent will start collecting and upload inventory data to provide visibility of inventory and provide licensing for license installed applications on those virtual machines / partitions.
