Update Resource UID/vmware UUID in RightScale After VM was restored from backup

We recently had one VM that is part of a RightScale deployment get corrupt and had to be recreated from a backup. The new VM has a different Resource UID/vmware UUID than the original so will not terminate properly when the deployment is terminated. Is there a way to update RightScale with the new UUID?

To update the Resource UID/vmware UUID in RightScale after a VM has been restored from a backup, you can follow these steps:

Identify the new Resource UID/vmware UUID of the restored VM. Then access the RightScale dashboard or API. Locate the specific deployment that contains the restored VM. After that edit the deployment configuration and navigate to the section related to the VM in question. Update the Resource UID/vmware UUID with the new value. Now, Save the changes to the deployment configuration.
Verify that the updated Resource UID/vmware UUID is now correctly associated with the restored VM in RightScale. By updating the Resource UID/vmware UUID, you ensure that the VM can be terminated properly when the deployment is terminated.     Target Pay and Benefits
