Did you mean:

why some folders inherit permissions, other does not?

Hi.

I did some search, but I can see that there are only a few topics, so I decided to add one with my issue.

I'm creating an MSI package with AdminStudio 10. I set permissions to folder C:/Program Files/ABC/EFG, where ABC is my INSTALLDIR folder. I set some permissions for EFG folder, and I expected all subfolders to inherit these permissions. But some subfolders did inherit them, some did not (first two yes, than third did not, next two also yes etc...). Permissions are set in "lock permissions" table as well (olny for EFG).

Can anyone tell me why is it so that not all subfolders inheritated permissions? I'm of course a newbie in Admin Studio, so I'm sorry if this question is lame.

I know that one of the resolution is to run a script to set all permissions, but since AdminStudio has such option as setting them, I'd rather to use it.

Regards, Lucas.

can you try the Installshield Custom Permission Handling?
( General Information)
Hi,

thanks for your answer. I had no time to play with it to be honest, so I just used .cmd file to set permissions after installation.

However, I'll try to check this option next time!
