v10.x IDE crash when changing file properties

I'm new. With this out of the way, read on...

Program in question is InstallShield X Professional - AdminStudio Edition
(SP1 included). AdminStudio is v6.0 (exact version number is 6.0.0.122)

Here's what I've done (step by step):

1. pointed to an .MSI file
2. started IS Editor from context menu
3. selected "Installation Designer" tab
4. selected "Setup Design"
5. selected a feature from tree
6. selected a component from tree
7. selected file
8. called property windows for a selected component
9. changed "Vital" and "Self register" flags
10. selected "Apply"

At this point, IS Editor crashed and displayed a report window.

So far I've managed to find only a hotfix under article Q111233 ,URL is
http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?articleid=Q111233 .

However, this hotfix applies only to IS Editor 10.5x and I have only
version 10.1.0.238.

So far, I was unable to find any articles regarding this problem for version
10.x of InstallShield Editor.

Could anyone please point me to a right hotfix ?

PS: I did manage to change file properties from "Direct Editor" without
crashing the IDE except for the "Self Register" attribute. If there's a
way around a bug for this one too, please let me know.

PPS: As suggested in help, I provided a clean windows environment
for the adminstudio package by putting the whole thing inside
emulator (VMWare). I keep backup of the whole emulated system
so I have a clean start every time. I mention this since it may
have something to do with the crash ...

You should report bugs here.
Thanks for a quick reply. I sent the bug report. One more thing though :
the "build" option is not available. Is there a FAQ/HELP/URL that explains
what is required to make the "build" option available when editing
existing MSI installs ?
When editing existing MSIs, you will need to save, you won't be able to build. For information on Build option, please refer to Macrovision HelpNet.

It is recommended to create a transform, instead of editing MSI directly, when the MSI is from a third-party vendor. You will also want to run Full MSI Validation Suite to make sure your changes don't render the MSI uninstallable.
