I am worried about the update service

I believe that this is an installshield product that allows programs to update themselves automatically

in our company environment we need to be able to install apps in a controlled manner

We have a corporate firewall that requires a password and whenever AdminStudio or DevStudio starts, our password dialog appears.
Is this UpdateService trying to update?
Why does this happen even when I switch the update frequency to never?
Is there a way to switch UpdateService off for all applications?

Upon the startup of DevStudio and AdminStudio, we do attempt to check the Update Service for critical updates to the software. You can however disable this if it suits your needs. I recommend you turn it back on every 15 days to let it check for updates, but you can do this at your discression. If you want to turn off the Update Service for an application, please see the following link for the utility that will allow you to do this.
