Uninstallation Problem!

Hello friends,

Application Name: JRE
Version: JREv1.5.0_09
Preformat: exe
Converted to: msi

After creating the .msi file successfully of JREv1.5.0_09, I install it. Everything works fine.

But,when i uninstall it, the "JavaControlPanel" Icon still remains to be visible in the control panel.

This is not expected to be.

And after un-installtion if i double click then it prompts
"System cannot find the registry key specified.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.5.0_09"

I have installed the Java application without any error. What could be the
possible reason for this error (mentioned above)?

When I double click the JavaControlPanel icon then JPICPL32.cpl is invoked.

I belive this error has something to do with the JPICPL32.cpl file attributes.
The attribute is 8, but other files attributes is 0 (zero).

Please help!
Thank you

The default behavior of the Repackager is to enforce Best Practices. In this case, since the .cpl file is installed into the SystemFolder, it's marked as permanent. To have this file removed during uninstall, set the Permanent property of the corresponding Component to 'No.'

Hope this helps,
