I was wondering if it is possible to launch the OS snapshot without having to install Installshield Admin Studio on the same PC that I am taking an OS snapshot of.
Yes. AdminStudio includes a stand-alone version of the repackager called Remote Repackager. Install the Remote Repackager in a network location and access this location from your clean workstation. You can create OSSnapshots and repackage applications this way.
Just to add to what isnank is saying you can also map a drive to any machine that has AdminStduio installed and launch the isrepackager.exe remotely. It is normal practice to share the repackager folder.
I have tried to use the IS Repackager to get a OS snaphot but all I seem to be able to do is get a snaphot of a package. What I want is to get a .osc file to upload into the ConflictSolver database.
