Is it possible to put MSI-packages together. I want to install more than one product in one routine.

Kind regards McTomac

Hi,

one of the features AdminStudio is supposed to offer is the ability to repackage several apps into one single MSI file. So, the answer to your question should be "yes, it is possible".

Then, how to do that...? Maybe you could create one feature for each app and a dialog asking the user which apps he wants to install. Then, install the features he has selected. Or this can be done by using the dialog "SetupType", which is even easier.

Voilà, voilà...

Hope this helps.

I'm not entirely sure what you want to do.

If you want to merge the two together into one package, that can't be done.

If you want to install the two "as if they were one package" then what you would have to do would be to create a third package which would call the other two using a "Nested Installation Custom Action"

This package would then represent the other two packages. You could install them together, and since you only get one entry in Add/Remove Programs, you could remove the two together.
