Populating a property with a variable

I want to edit an MST directly to polutate a property with the [ComputerName] variable. I don't think I can do this in the property table because it will just put the literal string "[ComputerName]" in there instead of the computer's host name.
What's the best way to do this. I don't have to create a custom action do I?

You will need to create a Custom Action Type 51 to do that.

This is only for populating the property table I'm assuming. I've used the [ComputerName] variable before in the registry and ini files with no trouble.
