Install shortcut and files

I would like to install an repackaged application and have it check to see if another application is on the machine. If that second application is on the machine there is a shortcut and some files and folders that will also be installed. How would I do this? Do I need to use a custom action?

You can create a system search to detect the other application using value data of a registry entry (note: not existence of registry key or value name), file path, folder path, INI file value, or component. Use the value (stored in a property) returned by system search to conditionally install components.

In the future, you may want to mention the version of AdminStudio used.
