Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem and can explain why it happens. We have our VMware machines setup on a server. From our local machines, we access the virtual machines and perform our snapshots. We then save the information back to our own machines. When the irp file is opened in the repackager and a build is attempted we get the 5010 error. So far we have found three solutions:
1 - If we exclude all files etc from the irp file, add them in one at a time (generating a new MSI each time) the builds are ok. Hardly a practical solution
2 - If we build the irp file using the Installshield editor without making any changes it builds.
3 - Rather than save the snapshot results straight to our local machine, we can save the data on the VMWare machine. Copying these results to our local machine and then using the Repackager results in a successful build.
 If anyone has an explanation for this it would be appreciated.
