I am unable to run MSI directly, must run setup.exe?

To Anyone:

I trying to create a transform file (.MST) for an existing MSI file, but when I attempt to create a response file, I recieve the following error message:

"1: This installation cannot be run by directly launching the MSI package. You must run setup.exe."

Is there a way to get around it?

I have had luck with those kinds of MSI's when I manually populate the required Properties. You will need to open the MSI in direct edit mode to find all of them.

Worst case senario you will have to repackage the app before you can get it to work.
