Hello, When I try to run my installer as Guest without admin privilege, and UAC is off, the installer skips all the prerequisites and does not abort itself although I set the release to require Administrator. Is there something else I need to set? Behavior of the installer when UAC is ON and I log on as GUEST: 1. I double click on setup.exe 2. UAC dialog pops up and asks me for Admin password. .. .. If I don't give password, installation aborts <-- This is what I want to happen .. .. If I give password, installation proceeds <-- This is what I want to happen 3. Installer displays the prerequisites screen, and so on... Behavior of the installer when UAC is OFF and I log on as GUEST: 1. I double click on setup.exe 2. The installer starts with the prerequisites screen. <-- I don't want this, I want the installer to abort. 3. I click on Install 4. -> An information message box pops, saying, "Another instance of this setup is already running. Please wait for the other instance to finish and then try again." <-- This is strange because I didn't start another installation process. 5. I click OK to dismiss the message box. At this point, the installer apparently aborted. But... 6. After about 10 seconds, the Welcome screen of the installer pops, as if the installer had just finished installing the prerequisites. 7. I go to control panel to see if the prerequisites were installed, and they are not. 8. At this point, if I click Next, the installation will continue. Hello, For an InstallScript project, once InstallShield is done building the installer, when I click on the "Open Release Folder", InstallShield brings me to the folder: (The Project)\Media\(Release Name)\Package\ There, I find a single Setup.exe, which is what I want. Now, I want to add some additional files to the Package folder. How do I do that so that when I click "Build", InstallShield would add those files automatically? When I Google this, I only find the information about adding files using the "Support Files/Billboards" feature. But in that feature, my options are only "Disk1", "Last Disk", and "Other". I have the following problem when I try to install/run an application with UAC: 1) If I disable UAC and install, the application would run properly after installation 2) If I switch on UAC, then run the application that I had just installed, when I click on some buttons on the GUI of the application, a pop-up with a progress bar would show. It was as if an installation process was triggered. 3) When that process was triggered, if I hit [Cancel] the application would continue to function. Has anyone encountered this problem? Hello, Previously, when I go to click on the [Add Folders] button in Application Files of the Project Assistant, there is a pop up asking me whether I want to set up dynamic linking. That pop up has a [Yes] [No] and a check box. When I click [Yes], I would eventually get to the Dynamic File Linking Settings Dialog: http://helpnet.installshield.com/installshield16helplib/IDlgDynLinkP.htm One time I clicked checked the check box. Ever since then the pop up no longer show up and the Dynamic File Linking Settings Dialog no longer show. How do I make that pop up appear again?
