I found out that I can't do what I want to do with the free version of Install Shield, and I would not be able to persuade my boss to spend any money on this. I need to find a different solution.

From that page I went to http://blogs.flexerasoftware.com/installtalk/2014/10/updated-support-creating-an-installation-that-installs-windows-services-.html And from that I went to http://helpnet.flexerasoftware.com/isxhelp21/isxhelp21.htm#StartTopic=helplibrary/FAQFilesNTService.htm From there I need to add the service executable to my project (point 1), so I click on the link which takes me to http://helpnet.flexerasoftware.com/isxhelp21/helplibrary/IHelpISXFilesExplorer.htm#organizingfiles_2873583767_1063717 Point 2 says "In the Feature list, select the feature that you want to contain the file or folder that you are adding." This is where I get lost. I do not see a feature list. I see a drop down list that gives me a choice of "All features" or "Always Install". I do not know what this means. I need to deploy a windows service for the first time. In Visual Studio 2012, I intended to create a Setup project but found I had to download Installshield which I have now done. However I cannot work out how to do this with Installshield. The Project Assistant by itself does not do this. It does not ask me to specify the test server I wish to deploy to for example. So how do I do this?

I am working on a wondows service and I want to deploy it to a test server. I found in VS2012 that in order to create a Setup project to do this I had to download InstallShield (free edition) which I have now done. However I can't find any information on how to do this. I have worked through the Project Assistant wizard, but nowhere am I asked to specify the test server. The solution on SO does not work; http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11994725/how-do-i-create-an-installshield-le-project-to-install-a-windows-service Maybe the example was from a previous version of InstallShield? When I right click on files I do not get a properties page option. Any help will be appreciated.
