I need to set a Property during run time. The value of the property is the value returned by an outside console application. How can I do this?

I am trying to create an install for vista and i keep getting a unable to find %systemdrive% error.The %systemdrive% should turn into C:\ but its not. If I go into the registry and change %systemdrive% to C:\ then it work. Obviously we can't do that ...
