Yeap. It's true. I just talked to a salesman. They will honor the current contracts but beyond that he couldn't tell me more. Yes, we're PO about this. We invested 2-months rewriting/testing/planning our products' deployment based on this technology. We like the concept and pricing. We saved a TON of money using this technology. Too bad they couldn't sale it to more companies.

There is no way to call the Activation API via the script. So, we're going to have to 'wrap' the executable in our LAN installation. Thank you MacroVision for your enthusiastic participation in this thread regarding our problem. /AC

Ese SelectDir or SelectDirEx function to present the user with a dialog. The other option is to gather the drives available on the machine (verify with GetDiskInfo function) and present them via a listbox in a custom dialog.

License code places a file on the local workstation's drive. This is the trigger to whether the executable is licensed. We now have one problem. We want to call the Activation service from our code when the user uninstalls the product. It currently does not decrease the count for the workstation's license since the executable is not part of the LAN installation. This trick only works if the installation script 'wraps' the executable as part of the license. /AC

We have a product that users have installed on a LAN server. Its executables are accesible from the workstations. We want the workstations to be licensed with a serial # that we provide for the site. This is complicated by the fact the workstations have access to the LAN installation that sets up the shortcuts that point back to executables on the LAN server. Will your code detect that the workstation has not been licensed? /AC

We are finalizing our scripts and we have noticed that we can't set the license for our "Update Install" to the same one that the "Full Install" uses; when we try to do so it creates another license on your server with the same name but with a new license #. We post updates to the "Full Install" on our FTP sites that our customers download throughout the year. We want these updates to carry the same license as the one shipped on our CD. How can we do this?
