I was adding a bunch of files to my install and a message box popped up and asked 'if I would like to dynamically link these files?' I chose yes, and said do not ask me this question again. now when I add files it no longer asks me if I want to dynamically link them and it always adds static links. My question is how can I reset InstallShield so it will continue to ask me to dynamically link my files?

What is the InstallAnywhere variable for Computer name? I am looking for something like $USER_INSTALL_DIR$ that I can replace at run-time that will translate into the computer name. There is a windows property called 'ComputerName', but I do not know how to access it. From searching I see that we can use something like $lax.nl.env.ENVIRONMENT_VARIABLE_NAME$ Would $lax.nl.env.ComputerName$ work? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am having the same issue, does anyone have a solution for this? I have added a host with the correct database name server name user and password. I let IA pick the driver class net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver Do I have to add the jtds-1.2.2.jar to my install? Where to I install it to? This is only needed during install time. Should the custom driver settings check-box be checked? If anyone can help me it would be appreciated. thank you ========================================================= Install Action: SQL Script 'config.sql' (MS SQL Server) Status: ERROR Additional Notes: ERROR - ZeroGaf8 - An error occurred while trying to establish a connection with the database server: Network error IOException: Protocol wrong type for socket: create

Hi, Would removing the signing information in sqljdbc.jar solve this issue? Open up in winzip and remove zigbert.sf & zigbert.rsa? I am having the same issue and I have to use sqljdbc.jar instead of jtds-1.2.2.jar because jtds-1.2.2.jar is not working in my 64-bit environment.

Hi, When using Microsoft's JDBC driver, was the JDBC driver class 'com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver'? Are there any dependencies that need top be added when using this? I think I need to use Microsoft's driver as well, but I am having trouble adding it. Thanks for any help you could offer.

Hi, I was wondering if you got this issue resolved? I am having the same issue. It works on a 32-bit machine, but not for a 64 bit machine with 64-bit SQL server.

This happens after I do a fresh get from TFS (nobody made changes in between), open the project and without making any changes, export the tables. I think I figured it out the reason see my other reply below. Thanks ========================================================= I think this might have to do with the MSI engine that is shipped with Wondows 7. Thank You for your reply. I think this might have to do with the MSI engine that is shipped with Wondows 7. Windows 7 ships MSI engine 5, while XP has an MSI version 3.1 or 4.5. Now if you can just tell me why I do not see my table rows in the Direct Editor on a Windows 7 machine I will be all set.

I recently got a new Windows 7 machine and have installed InstallShield 2010 on it. The problem that I am having is that if I checkout one of our projects from SourceSafe, open it up in InstallShield 2010. Then WITHOUT making any changes export the .idt tables and compare to what is in SourceSafe it shows many changes. When I look closer at the changes some of the rows are in a different order. This maybe happens on 10 to 15 tables. Although there are no REAL changes the fact that the rows are in a different order cause me to have to go through the 15 tables and visually compare them to make sure that they have not changed. this is not a problem on a Windows XP machine. Can anyone tell me when I see a difference in the Export Tables when they are exported from a Windows 7 machine? this has been driving me crazy all day. Also as a side note when I click on the tables from within the IDE I do not see the rows on my Windows 7 machine like I used to on my XP machine. The major problem is that I can not go back because InstallShield made me uninstall on my old box before I could install in my new Windows 7 box. thank you in advance for any help....
