Well Vlad, the use case is that we work multiple releases. As in one release for eg Rel1.0 has installers with IAv7.1 and other release say Rel2.0 has installers made from IAv9.0(to get Vista support). Now the user of our product has the option of installing Rel1.0 and Rel2.0 in the same folder for some reasons. I hope I have addressed your query. -Vikz

Hi I have an installer created with InstallAnywhere v7.1 Enterprise Edition and another installer created with InstallAnywhere v9.0 Enterprise Edition.I have installed one on top of the other in order of first installing v9.0 installer and top of it installing v7.1 installer. I am not able to launch the launcher. So I was wondering if there are any compatibility issues around this.? Thanks -Vikz

With the number of times I'm running solaris/hpux installer I'm apparently cluttering up /tmp directory with the installer temp directories (installer.dir.####). It appears that all files within the installer.dir.## temp directory get removed, but it leaves itself and a number of subdirectories. Is this a bug of IA.?.If not is there any way we can remove them.? Thanks -Vikz

pv7721 wrote: The simplest way to do it, IMHO, is to recreate in version 2.0 the LaunchAnywhere already created in version 1.0, and on one hand make sure that you mark "overwrite existing file" (this will insure LAX overwriting) and on the other hand mark in the project properties the list of valid VMs. Vlad I have created a new LaunchAnywhere in v2.0.Now as far as my knowledge goes, in the "Install" tab ,for my xxx.exe that is the launcher/LaunchAnywhere has a "Edit Properties".Thats it..I did not see any "Overwrite existing file" for it.I see this overwrite option for files which are there in some specific location which I am referring to from IA but not for LaunchAnywhere. In "Post Install" ,I see a task like "$USER_INSTALL_DIR$/xxx.lax" but I do not see any checkbox of Overwriting it.

Hi I have created two different versions of installers(v1.0 and v2.0).Now the functionality I want is that when I install v2.0 on top of v1.0 the lax property file variable "lax.nl.valid.vm.list" should get overwritten by the v2.0 value. How can I do this.?. -Vikz
