That's the wrong string. There's a function already in my OnFirstUIBefore function: SetStatusExStaticText( SdLoadString( IDS_IFX_STATUSEX_STATICTEXT_FIRSTUI ) ); And according to the documentation IDS_IFX_STATUSEX_STATICTEXT_FIRSTUI is the string "The InstallShield Wizard is installing %P" for English. I need the string located above that in the window...

I have essentially this same problem. I need to translate "Setup Status" in this dialog, but do not have access to change the dialog as far as I know. Plus, because I'm translating this dialog to Arabic it needs to be RTL and Installshield is not in the correct location near the bottom.

Thanks! I appreciate this. That link was exactly what I was looking for, I just couldn't find it in the help provided with IS2010.

Hi, I'm trying to manually translate an unsupported language (Arabic). I'm having difficulty trying to find each and every place where strings need to be modified though. Most of them are in the String Table in the IDE, but there are still lots of strings that I can't find. Can anyone give any hints as to where strings are located in Installshield? I'm mostly talking about UI dialogs and error messages. Thanks.

InstallShield 2010

I have an issue that prevents a user from uninstalling, and here are the steps that reproduce the problem: 1. User installs Product.exe using an Installscript MSI 2. User uses Product.exe for a bit 3. User tries to uninstall Product.exe using the Windows 7 "Product and Features" dialog and the user runs into the dialog attached below. If I open up Task Manager, MsiExec is still running. In fact, it's still running immediately after the install is over, and continues to stay open until the user reboots. However if the user uses the Installshield setup.exe to uninstall the product, the product uninstalls just fine whether MsiExec was open previously or not. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going on here, or has anyone run into this problem with IS 2010? I hadn't run into this problem with 2008 or 2009 before. Thanks!

I've disabled small/minor upgrades in my Installscript MSI installer. When the end user starts a new setup.exe he/she encounters the attached dialog. This appears to be a standard MSI dialog. Does anyone know where I can edit the text for this dialog? I can't find the string label anywhere...

Well, unchecking the hidden checkbox in the properties of the prerequisite seemed to work. However, instead of prompting the user to install Windows Installer 4.5 now it just went ahead and did it without any user prompt. This is adequate for my needs though. Thanks!

What is the name of this dialog, and how can I access the text to fill in this dialog in order to properly notify the user of what prerequisite they are installing? EDIT: Let me add some context around this...I've added Windows Installer 4.5 into my setup .exe and when I encounter a machine that doesn't have Windows Installer 4.5 and needs to install it the following dialog is the one that is displayed. It's not very informative as to what is trying to happen and that's why I want to add some text into this dialog. I just don't know how to get access to it...
