I am unable to get data although I have followed the setup instructions. I added the password for Vcenter into the password manager which has read rights. It does connect. Then I created the inventory rule with the correct ports. I chose "Gather hardware and software inventory from all target devices. I also chose "Discover VMware Infrastructure" and also "Gather VMware infrastructure inventory, with advanced recognition of VMware applications. I chose the subnet for targets where my Vcenters reside. I added the information in the registry for DefaultPingSweepOptions and DefaultScanOptions. The rule runs without errors, but no data is returned. Any suggestions on why?

I am going to try and add the vcenter as a discovered device manually and see if that resolves the issue.

Hi @bottsra
You need to make sure, from Beacon you have http/https to vCenter/ Vmware Esxi, Mob is enable on Esxis, user with read only access to vmware should be setup in beacon, ping should be there from beacon to Esxi.
@ChrisG is there any way we can skip ping check, as some environments ping is not allowed.
Thanks!!

Ping sweeps can be disabled by setting the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ManageSoft Corp\ManageSoft\Discovery\CurrentVersion\DefaultPingSweepOptions registry entry on the beacon to the following value: -PS
See this page for more information: Registry Keys for Inventory Beacon

Hello,
if ping is disabled, you need to configure the action for the scan of the vCenter
you need to disable the network scan, and microsoft computer browser service, and enable the option to use the previously discovered device. And of course you need to define your vcenter in the all discovered devices. After that the inventory should work.
