FlexNet Beacon Engine service - Error 1053

When trying to start the FlexNet Beacon Engine service we are getting error 1053- “This service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion”.

Can anyone help identify why we are receiving this message and how to resolve?

Hello,

Please do the following:

Check the beacon log files, and see why the service didn't start

Check beacon services in services.msc, eventually try to stop , restart, etc

Reboot the server, if possible.

Did something changed on the server, patch applied etc.

Check event viewer from windows.

this sounds like a beacon corruption issue to me, can you see if you can repair the installation via add/remove programs?
if it does not let you and asks for am msi instead it tends to suggest there is a beacon installation integrity issues
