We were looking at using the UAI REST interface to post "events" to the server, that we would later read and process. This works on cloud servers, but the API doesn't seem to exist on a Local License Server (to support offline licensing scenarios).
I was wondering if I might have the URL wrong? In the case of the CLOUD server, the URI for posting events has the following format:
https://cloudserverID-ns-uat.flexnetoperations.com/uai/2.0/events
and this works.
But what would it be on a local license server? For example, I would have expected something like this but it fails:
https://servername:7070/uai/2.0/events
but this fails (No such REST API)
Can you confirm that either the UAI API is not supported on Local License Server, or else point me to the correct URI to access it or related documentation?
Thanks

Hi @kiangorji ,
The Updates & Insights (UAI) REST APIs are designed for use between a device and either a Cloud Update Notification Server or a FlexNet Edge Server.
A Notification Server or Edge Server is not the same component as a License Server (either a Cloud License Server or Local License Server).
The base Cloud Notification Server URL is actually
https://<siteid>-ns.flexnetoperations.com/uai/2.0
where <siteid> is your FlexNet Operations tenant ID. There is no Cloud License Server involved with Cloud UAI communications.
For UAI offline support Revenera provides a FlexNet Edge Server. The Edge Server is installed on the end customer's premise and is used to forward the update requests from disconnected devices to the Cloud Notification Server . The Edge Server needs periodic connectivity in order to forward the device requests and pull down the requested responses/updates. The Edge Server supports the same UAI REST Interface as the Cloud Notification Server.
Thanks,
Jim

Hello @jberthold,
To follow up, I can't seem to find the installation file anywhere. Here's what your documentation says:
To obtain the FlexNet Edge ZIP file:
1. | Login to the Flexera Product and License Center using your Flexera Community credentials. |
2. | In the Product List, select FlexNet Operations Cloud. The Product Information page opens. |
3. | Click on FlexNet Operations Cloud Documentation. The Product Download page opens, listing files available for download. |
4. | Download the FlexNet Operations VERSION - FlexNet Edge.zip file. |
But when I go there, there is no such "FlexNet Edge.zip" file at all (see attached image).
Where is that file supposed to be?
Thanks

Thanks Jim. Did not see a disco notice. What is the alternative for offline update management this tool was addressing?

Unfortunately there is no alternative, it's online updating only.
