OLE Control

Hi

Is it possible to insert update service as OLE Control on a window ? If so what is the class name.

Thanks

No, the Update Service Agent is not written to be used as an OLE control.

Just curious, did you want to use this within a windows desktop application or within a web page?

Thanks!

Wanted to use on window as a hidden control, because in Powerbuilder we can not code for update service events. Wanted to try that way.

I have the update service working thru PowerBuilder, but as an nonvisual oleobject. It works great, but as you mentioned, there is no access to the events and also the error checking capabilities are somewhat limited. I have built my own interface and logic to display, download and apply updates from the update service using PB code.

In PB 9, the PBNI interface should remove the event/error checking limitations, but we are not moving to version 9 yet, so I haven't tried it out to see if it truly does or not...
