Volume Serial Number

Hello Everybody,

I have an application mathlab while installing the application it takes the Volume Serial Number of the machine and puts some were in the application specifivc registry... but when i'm trying to search this particular Volume Serial Number on the machine i'm not able to find....

Let me know if anybody has came accross such issue beacuse i can't keep the same captured registry in my MSI as it will not work on anyother machine...

Hello,

I think that you can make a custom action to get the Volume Serial Number of the machine (VBS, WMI) and put it in an Adminstudio variable that you put to the registry ???
