Can't edit extended attributes in AS 11.5 SP1

We are running Admin Studio 11.5 SP1 and would like to edit our Extended Attributes xml file. I followed the process of copying EA_Default.xml and renaming it. I then added 2 new attributes and pointed to the new xml through the Application Manager options. The new attributes do not show up for the apps in the catalog when we run the Application Manager. Is this a situation where we need to set this when we create the catalog and then can't change it once we have entries?
Any assitance is much appreciated.

The Extended Attributes functionality is per catalog. If you change the attributes or define a new EA file, the changes are applied to the next catalog when created.

That probably doesn't help you too much, but there you go. 🙂
