I have an install package that contains a device driver and an application that installs both correctly. I have a newer package with newer versions of the driver and appilication that installs both correctly. The problem is: 1. During OVER-install with the newer version the older version is replaced, but NOT uninstalled. i.e. The uninstall information in the registry remains and the reference count goes up for common components. 2. UN-installing from Programs&Features removes the driver completely, but leaves the application (although it is the newer files) running. 3. To remove the application I have to run the original installer Remove function. The Upgrade Codes match. Has anyone ever seen this before?

I am using IS2012 Premier edition to create a Suite project to install a driver and application using the basic MSI method. The setup.exe installation dialog shows a successful completion, but ERRORLEVEL=1 after setup.exe exits. The debug log has no errors or warnings, yet the log indicates Final exit status: 1 Our customer requires ERRORLEVEL to be 0 for a successful installation. How can I make setup.exe return an exit code of 0?

The issue was Administrator rights. InstallShield always runs with Administrator rights. The command line program, ISCmdBld.exe, does not.

I have a IS2012Premier Suite project that builds and signs correctly in the IS gui, BUT when I build the project with ISCMDBLD.exe, the signing fails, displaying output as follows: ............. Started signing SetupSuite64.exe ... Number of errors: 1 SignTool Error: Access is denied. SignTool Error: An error occurred while attempting to sign: SetupSuite64.exe ISDEV : error -1027: Failed signing SetupSuite64.exe Started signing Setup.tmp ... Successfully signed: setup.tmp The suite project creation process has completed with: 1 Errors and 0 Warnings. ............. The resulting package seems to work okay. Is this a real error? Any fixes, work arounds or ideas?
