The FlexNet inventory agent does not currently support IBM Z Mainframe systems.

Summary Is 3rd party service provider Microsoft Azure Supported Synopsis Is it Possible to Manage devices that are currently hosted via 3rd party service provider, Microsoft Azure? I am able to scan and inventory the device but I do not see the host. I see an error message that states "Missing Host". Discussion
Currently, FNMS does not strictly support Azure today from either an inventory gathering or license reconcile perspective.
Workaround In the short term, a VM Host could be created manually and VM's linked, however care would need to be taken to ensure processor metrics are appropriately set based on licensing requirements.

Summary Does FNMS have the ability to restrict licence by the Inventiory Device Type? Question Does FlexNet Manager Suite have the ability to restrict licence by the Inventiory Device Type? If it is possible, Microsoft Datacentre edition licences can be set to restrict to the Inventory Device Type 'VM Host'. Answer FlexNet Manager Suite only supports to scope licences by either Corporate Structure, Cost Centers or Locations. An enhancement to restrict licenses by Category group is being tracked under an enhancement request #IOJ-1769732 (FNMS-34617). There is currently no commitment to implementing this enhancement in a future release.

Summary
This article covers upgrading your FlexNet Inventory agent as well as changing settings for self-update for On-Premise and Cloud Environments.
Synopsis
Upgrades to your inventory beacon(s) do not trigger any automatic updates to the FlexNet inventory agents that you have deployed on target machines for local inventory collection. Even when there is an update to the central application server, the upgrade mechanism for FlexNet inventory agents is turned off. This gives you the freedom to manage the upgrade of deployed FlexNet inventory agents independently of upgrades to other parts of the system.
Discussion
Upgrading the FlexNet Inventory Agent is covered in the in-product Help. The Help menu can be reached by selecting the white question mark “?”, on the right side of the navigation bar. Once in the in-product Help, you can find the steps to upgrade the Inventory agents by searching for the following terms.
The in-product Help is also available online (for FNMS 2019 R1 and newer) in the Documentation Center. This can be accessed from the Other Resources tab of the Community, then selecting Documentation.

Changing the agent settings for self-update, prior to FNMS 2019 R1, required changes to settings that are stored in the FNMS databases. The process of modifying these settings was changed with the release of FNMS 2019 R1. The option to enable automatic upgrades was added to the UI.

Software end of support life (EOSL) data for applications that are recognized as installed on at least one computer are exposed through various columns available on the License Compliance > Installed Applications grid in the FlexNet Manager Suite UI:
Additional EOSL data (including data for applications that are not recognized as installed) can be found by directly querying the database of FlexNet Manager Suite On-premises installations.
Accessing EOSL data directly in the database
A SQL query like the following can be executed against a FlexNet Manager Suite On-premises compliance database to review applications in the currently installed ARL version that have an End of Life Support Date or Extended Support Until date:

Summary FNMS export is failing with an error code 1 and NO transaction is being created in ServiceNow Symptoms The connector from FNMS to ServiceNow is no longer functioning. Servicenow rejecting packets with an error code 1 and NO transaction is being created in ServiceNow. NOTE: This error is typically seen in FNMS Cloud environments Cause One possible cause for Servicenow to reject import packet from FNMP is the file size. With the following conditions: 1. FNMS ServiceNow export log is failing with an error code 1 (FNMS Side) 2. No transaction is being created in ServiceNow (ServiceNow Side) 3. There is no Import transaction or Import runs in waiting or processing status.(ServiceNow Side) The typical size of a request shall be less than 10 MB, which is what ServiceNow supports by default. Resolution Check to see if the following system property exist in ServiceNow under sys_properties.list glide.rest.scripted.max_inbound_content_length_mb If it does not exist create property and type integer with value of 25

Discussion Currently the Installation Wizard does not allow you to modify the installation directory of Business Adapter Studio. It will be installed by default to the C: drive.
