Thank you both for replying but they did not work. The "\" cuts the registry key and the REGDB_OPTIONS does not seem to do anything, I am still getting the RegDBCreateKeyEx write error.

MGarret, I think when I build the patch, Installshield automatically change the upgrade code. I will double check and get back to you. Thanks for replying.

i went back and play around with the control even for the dialog and found that using the SpawnWaitDialog seems to make it works. Thank you all.
